The European Chamber of Commerce Taipei, Taiwan has relaunched its website. Joomla was chosen as the content management system because its flexibility and ease of use.
Besides the Joomla core system a number of extensions were used to implement the functionality of the website, among which there are a event reservation system, member directory, file repository, and forum. Some extensions had to be modified to meet special requirements. For example there are two kinds of registered users: first the chamber members, who have full access to the member directory, and forum users, who don't.
The chamber has over 600 members, who update their own profile. There is also a newsletter component, which fetches most of its content automatically from the system and needs very little attention of the chamber team. Also all other functions of the website are automated, wherever possible.
Thanks to the Joomla team and the extension developers for providing this fantastic CMS to the community. Without their enormous effort and their support such websites would be impossible.
Please take a moment and visit the website at http://www.ecct.com.tw (http://www.ecct.com.tw).

The Joom!Fish development team is pleased to announce the public release of the Joom!Fish 2.0 Beta 2 today.
Joom!Fish 2.0 is an enhanced and native implemented extension
using the Joomla! 1.5 framework. It incorporates with the Joomla! 1.5
legacy mode for other extensions as well as the native integration.
The current implementation is 95% feature completed and already once
tested by all our contributors and donators. However we recommend not
using this version for a productive website yet. After this Beta the
Joom!Fish team will release an Release Candidate and then the stable
version.
The second beta release, fixes most of the known bugs and enables the users to use SEF and other features, that were outstanding in Beta 1.
We would like to take the chance to thank to all of our supporters and donors that tested the second beta in the last month and helped us to correct most of the issues it has.
Joom!Fish 2.0 Beta 2 is available for download at www.joomfish.net
