You might wonder, why blog about 1.5 and parameters? Well, because I’ve seen many reports e.g. questions about it on our forum. So I am hoping to shed some light on it for everyone, at least give it some extra attention.

Parameters in Joomla! 1.5 can be set at 3 levels:

- global parameters
- menu parameters
- item parameters

The most important issue here is to understand which level overrides the other one. This is whats usually miss understood or simply not known by a lot of the users. So how it works in basics; as listed above, item parameters override the menu parameters. The menu parameters will override the global parameters.
