Well, today has been another big day for Joomla! 1.5 bug squashing in the United States. The New York and Washington, D.C. locations just wrapped up for the day but San Francisco is still chugging along. We managed to resolve some long standing issues such as the SEF URL issues when using PHP 4.3.x that Louis fixed, I finally fixed the issues with parameters when using the pipe (”|”) character, and Anthony Ferrara, a community volunteer, fixed several other long standing SEF URL issues that needed attention. It is amazing to see not only the Development Working Group but also the community developers all pitching in together to help bring Joomla! 1.5 to a more stable state. The energy and motivation that these events has inspired is very refreshing and uplifting.
Fortunately, the event is not quite over here and another one in Belgium hosted by Lead Developer Johan Janssens is about to kick off on Monday. I look forward to seeing the progress once all the patches have been reviewed and committed and all the events have run their course; I am confident that we will all be looking at a much more secure and stable Joomla! 1.5!
