Being fairly new to Joomla I’m constantly searching for online places to learn more and stay up-to-date. I get most of “what’s hot or not” via Twitter, but my favorite source of information and inspiration is Google reader.
I subscribed to quite a few good Joomla related rss feeds over the past year, but something was bothering me…surely this
couldn’t be all active blogs about Joomla? Many of the blogs in my reader hadn’t been updated for donkey years, like nothing was happening in the Joomla sphere…or nobody blogged about it.
Update your RSS feed
After a bit of investigation, it turned out many of them ARE still active but changed the feed url without redirecting or notifying subscribers – with a loss of subscribers as a result. How could this have been avoided?
- Redirect your old feed url to the new and keep your subscribers updated.
- For long-term flexibility, use FeedBurner and make sure it’s the active feed on your site.
Blogs ABOUT Joomla!
After searching the web, receiving ideas from the Twittersphere plus going through the over 75 sources big Joomlaworks Joomla! news, my hunt for helpful blogs about Joomla (= blogs with more Joomla tips & tricks than self-promotion) is over for now.
