There has been an interesting update to the forum sections on the Joomla Extensions Directory. It has been split into Native Joomla Forums (http://extensions.joomla.org/component/option,com_mtree/task,listcats/cat_id,1778/Itemid,35/) and Forum Bridges (http://extensions.joomla.org/component/option,com_mtree/task,listcats/cat_id,1969/Itemid,35/). I was shocked to see only five native Joomla forums remaining. There are two native forums with a wide range of features: FireBoard (http://extensions.joomla.org/component/option,com_mtree/task,viewlink/link_id,2134/Itemid,35/) (still in legacy mode on Joomla 1.5 until version 2.0 in the fall (http://www.bestofjoomla.net/wiki/doku.php?id=com_fireboard:fireboard_roadmap:start))Joo!BB (http://extensions.joomla.org/component/option,com_mtree/task,viewlink/link_id,3438/Itemid,35/) (still in Alpha) And three very basic forums: Simplest Forum (http://extensions.joomla.org/component/option,com_mtree/task,viewlink/link_id,3131/Itemid,35/) Rapid Forum (http://extensions.joomla.org/component/option,com_mtree/task,viewlink/link_id,4830/Itemid,35/) Nice Talk (http://extensions.joomla.org/component/option,com_mtree/task,viewlink/link_id,1676/Itemid,35/)
